In the Name of God, The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful.

عيسى عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ: إنّكُم لا تُدرِكُونَ ما تُحِبُّونَ إلّا بِصَبرِكُم على ما تَكرَهُونَ

Prophet Jesus (as) said, ‘Verily you will never be able to attain that which you love until you are able to endure that which you despise.’

[Mīzan Al-Hikmah]

In life, we go through many difficulties where we must be patient. There are things in life we must endure in order to get that which we love. Verily you will never be able to attain that which you love until you are able to endure that which you despise. In order to achieve high results, one must climb tough mountains.

We all go through darkness, pain, hardships and obstacles, but how would we ever feel the sweetness of victory and patience if we did not go through long periods of difficulties?

Patience is indeed a trait that strengthens man. It is a trait that shapes human spirituality to become a spirited human being of strength and perseverance. We are usually willing to see the beautiful results, but why are we not willing to see the patience behind the beautiful results?

It takes storms of hardships, strong winds of adversities and high waves of obstacles until the ship reaches the beautiful destination. We must go through difficult times to appreciate and feel the sweetness of the good times. Patience teaches us gratitude and appreciation, and that is the beauty of good qualities, that one good trait gives birth to another.

Patience and the remaining good qualities will lead to light and more light, while impatience, intolerance, anger and the remaining bad qualities will only lead to darkness and the destruction of the soul and the personality of a human being.

Remember that your dreams can take days, months and even years to achieve. Always learn to be patient during your journey towards your goals. Always remember to keep the pace up. In this way, you will not give up on your goals and dreams, and you will always keep the motivation in order to continue and you will not stay at a point which will cause you to back down and not develop.

You never know what awaits you and what God has prepared for you. We as Muslims and believers must believe that God has prepared something so special for us, which we cannot even imagine with all our senses. Do not give up. You never know how close you are. Just keep moving forward toward the good, and God will facilitate. We as Muslims must believe that after hardship comes ease:

Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, “When is the help of God?” Unquestionably, the help of God is near.

Peace and Blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad (saw) and his Family (as)
