الإمامُ الباقرُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): وَجَدنا في كتابِ رسولِ ‏اللّه‏ِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ) … إذا مَنَعُوا الزَّكاةَ مَنَعَتِ الأرضُ بَرَكَتَها مِنَ الزَّرعِ والثِّمارِ والمَعادِنِ كُلِّها

Imam Al-Baqir (as) narrated, ‘We found the following written in the book of the Prophet (S): …When the alms-tax is withheld, the earth withholds all its yield of plants, fruits and minerals.’

Imam Al-Hasan (as) said, ‘The giving of the alms-tax never diminishes wealth.’

The Prophet (saw) said, ‘If you want God to enrich your wealth then give the alms-tax from it.’

THE DEED OF ARROGANCE AND REPENTANCE

We have all witnessed this trap that many Muslims and Believers fall into. A couple of good deeds, and you believe that you are the greatest Muslim on earth. It doesn’t work like that. A couple of good deeds should never ever make you arrogant or egocentric.
